Job Purpose
To effectively manage Geological Operations and evaluations within Pearl’s interests in Vietnam.
Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Geological Operations
· Ensure sound geoscience operations, data acquisition, analysis and evaluation during Pearl's exploration drilling campaign.
· Develop Well proposals in order to define and evaluate drillable prospects
· Post-well Interpret, evaluate and report to the Exploration Manager the lessons learnt.
· Organise, evaluate and make recommendations tenders for key geological services
Regional Evaluation
· Generate, evaluate and maintain a full Prospect Inventory on all Operated Blocks.
· To establish and maintain an industry leading database and understanding of the Nam Con Son Basin and to integrate all new well results
· Review, evaluate and make recommendations on all New Venture in Vietnam. Seek relevant approvals for all opportunities meeting corporate goals
Liaison
· Liaison with PetroVietnam and contractors.
· Liaise with other Chief Geologists to share findings and assess opportunities.
· Contribute to leveraging the experience base of Pearl senior exploration staff across the region.
· Actively participate in Peer Review process
Mentoring
· Mentor junior staff in geological concepts, analyses, interpretation and evaluation of geological data in order to enhance their knowledge and skills and improve their productivity.
· Ensure adequate training of junior staff
Qualification(s) Required:
A degree in Geology or equivalent with training in G & G applications and processes
Experience Required:
10 to 12 years working in Geology with experience to South East Asia.
