Overview:

The World Resources Institute (WRI) seeks a highly motivated intern for its Climate & Energy Program (CEP). The successful candidate will primarily provide research and administrative support to a few projects in the Major Emerging Economies team. The projects share a sector-specific focus and provide valuable exposure to three distinct ways to contribute to GHG management in emerging economies. The position involves researching energy-intensive power and other sectors and conducting an assessment of existing GHG measurement systems in key sectors in emerging economies. As time allows, the intern will have the opportunity to be involved in WRI's broader portfolio of climate-related projects in major emerging economies. The position is located at WRI's headquarters in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

Assist the team in background research and analysis for relevant projects Assist the team in organizing and conducting interviews with experts and stakeholders in emerging economies Document results of the secondary research and interviews Draft, edit, and assist with fundraising proposals and grant reports Support other activities as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in environmental policy, engineering, political science, public administration, public policy, law, economics, or related field Familiarity with the power sector, preferably in India, and other industrial sectors is highly desirable International experience and familiarity with one or more major emerging economies Experience with MS-Excel and strong quantitative skills Excellent research, analytical, writing, presentation and organizational skills Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and deliver under tight deadlines Salary This is an unpaid internship position.
